Austin, Texas-based Otto announced the automated write-back feature for its AI-powered Recap functionality, making it the first company in veterinary technology to offer seamless integration with Practice Information Management Systems (PIMS) for AI-generated SOAP notes. This feature supports synchronization with several popular PIMS systems, including Avimark, Cornerstone, Impromed, Neo, eVetPractice, EzyVet, and Instinct, saving veterinarians significant time on paperwork.
Otto's automated write-back feature is part of the Otto Flow subscription. With this new functionality, veterinary clinics can automatically synchronize AI-generated SOAP notes to their PIMS systems overnight, eliminating the tedious manual copy-and-paste process. This technology significantly reduces administrative burden for veterinarians, allowing them to focus more on interactions with pets and their owners.

Otto CEO Zeynep Young stated, "Veterinarians spend countless hours on paperwork each day, often working late to ensure accurate record-keeping. Our automated write-back feature is a breakthrough for veterinary efficiency, allowing them to dedicate more time to caring for animals and their families."
The AI Recap feature transcribes consultation content, intelligently extracts key information, and filters out irrelevant conversation. The resulting record can be in traditional SOAP note format or a bulleted summary, automatically synchronizing to the clinic's PIMS system overnight.
Dr. Jennifer Quammen, Otto's Chief Veterinary Officer, is an early adopter of the technology. She commented, "AI Recap notes have revolutionized my workflow. I spend significantly less time on paperwork and have more time to interact with pets and their owners. The quality of my records has also improved; editing AI Recap notes is faster, and I know they'll be updated in the system tomorrow without any copying and pasting."
