According to data from the website Originality.ai, 26% of the top 100 global websites have now blocked OpenAI's web crawler, GPTBot. This figure has tripled since last month. The primary concern for websites blocking GPTBot is the fear that OpenAI may use the content for model training without providing any form of compensation. The Common Crawl crawler has also been blocked by some websites, as it supplies some training data to companies like OpenAI. The data further reveals that among the top 1000 websites, 67 robots.txt files remain unchecked.
