DeepL has recently made significant updates to its API, allowing users to access DeepL’s自主研发 language model and writing assistant, DeepL Write, through the API.

The newly launched DeepL Write is not a simple text generation tool but rather a writing assistance tool like Grammarly, aiming to enhance the quality of text. This means that users can receive higher-quality writing support in business emails, academic papers, or other forms of text creation.

In terms of translation, DeepL's self-developed language model focuses on correcting and optimizing translation results, enabling it to handle more complex translation scenarios. In the past, machine translation might incorrectly translate a Dutch name like "Van Den Berg" as "From The Mountain," while DeepL's language model almost always identifies and corrects such errors, improving translation accuracy.

User feedback indicates that the detailed improvements in the new API have made the localization process more feasible. Currently, the DeepL API supports 33 languages including English, Dutch, Swedish, Japanese, German, Korean, and Simplified Chinese. DeepL officially states that ensuring user data security is its top priority, and it will never use user content to train models.

This upgrade not only improves translation accuracy but also optimizes user experience through writing assistance functions. DeepL's update marks further development in the fields of translation and writing, providing more possibilities for businesses and individuals.
