According to the latest data, OpenAI's artificial intelligence (AI) tools have seen a significant surge in web traffic over the past two months, highlighting its strong market advantage. The data shows that the average daily visits to OpenAI's ChatGPT and other API websites rose from 150 million at the end of March to 190 million on May 9, an increase of 27%. Currently, OpenAI's traffic accounts for nearly 80% of all AI platforms, thanks to its GPT-4o update and partnerships with Microsoft.

In contrast, Google's Gemini appears to be lagging behind, as despite promotions in search and workspaces, its traffic remains at approximately 25 million per day, indicating it has yet to become users' preferred AI product. However, Gemini saw a slight increase in April, becoming one of only two generative AI platforms to achieve growth.
Additionally, DeepSeek and Grok are showing strong growth momentum. DeepSeek, a Chinese open-source large language model provider, quickly entered the market since January this year, with current average daily visits reaching around 20 million, closing in on Google's Gemini. Grok, founded by Elon Musk's xAI, achieved significant growth starting in late February following the release of Grok3, with current average daily visits reaching 8 million. While Perplexity has undergone extensive market promotion, its average daily visits remain stable at 5 million.
OpenAI's product updates, the release of GPT-4o, and its close collaboration with Microsoft have solidified its leading position in the market. In stark contrast, although Google continues to advance its AI layout, the appeal of its products still needs improvement.
