On May 20th, Tencent officially released the HunYuan Game Visual Generation Platform, an AI content engine built on top of the HunYuan large model, specifically designed for industrial-level content production in the gaming industry. The launch of this platform marks the entry of the game art design industry into a new era of efficient creation, with the potential to boost creation efficiency by tens of times.
In the past, game art designers often had to jump between multiple software applications when creating character images, from finding reference images to sketching drafts, creating three-view images, and rendering dynamic demonstrations. The entire process was fragmented and cumbersome, requiring files to be repeatedly imported and exported. Tencent's HunYuan AI Art Pipeline compresses this entire workflow into one working page. Users only need to input a prompt phrase, such as "an anime girl in thick painting style," and the platform can generate a set of inspiration reference images. After selecting the image, the designer can directly draw sketches on the same page and instantly generate standard three-view images and a 360-degree rotation demonstration video. This whole process eliminates the need to switch software, greatly saving time and effort.
In addition, Tencent's HunYuan has launched a real-time canvas function that can respond to user "generation" requests within seconds. When the designer draws one stroke, the platform immediately produces an image; when the designer moves the composition, the result changes accordingly. This "what you see is what you get" experience allows designers to experiment more frequently during the idea generation and concept validation stages, quickly finalize designs, and maintain continuity and control over their creations.
To better understand professional terms in the game art field, Tencent's HunYuan has launched an AI2D art model trained specifically for the game domain. This model is trained on a million-level dataset of games and anime, capable of deeply understanding native Chinese prompts and accurately reproducing specialized terms such as "thick painting," "cel shading," and "cyberpunk." It supports high-consistency generation across various mainstream game styles and themes, including realistic, cartoonish, Eastern mythology, and fantasy. This means designers can describe styles more naturally without needing to repeatedly stack words or twist sentences to make the AI understand them.
Tencent's HunYuan also introduces a role multi-view auto-generation capability. By uploading a single front-facing character image, the system can automatically generate standard A/T pose front, side, and back views, as well as a 360-degree rotation demonstration video. The consistency of the character can reach up to 99%, truly achieving "draw one, supplement three." This capability is suitable for scenarios where art is handed over to the modeling stage and is also very helpful for character mass production or outsourcing communication, helping teams reduce errors at the source, shorten cycles, and improve collaboration efficiency.
Besides these features, Tencent's HunYuan is expected to release several "enhancement bands" within the next few months, including image-to-video generation, dynamic illustrations, video super-resolution, and interactive generation functions, further promoting the development of the game art industry. These functions will bring static images to life, make characters more dynamic, enhance low-quality material image quality, and create immersive content experiences.
