As the world's largest contract electronics manufacturer, Foxconn, takes firmer steps in collaboration with the renowned chipmaker Nvidia. Recently, Foxconn announced at the Taipei International Computer Show that it will build a data center specifically for AI applications in phases, with an expected total power capacity of 100 megawatts (MW).

In his speech at the show, Chairman Liu Yangwei of Foxconn revealed that this AI data center will be constructed gradually. Chairman Liu emphasized that due to the scarcity of electricity resources in Taiwan, the progress of this project is not achieved overnight. The initial plan will start with a power supply of 20 MW and gradually increase to 40 MW, ultimately reaching the target of 100 MW. "We are aware that electricity is crucial for this project, and we are doing our best to ensure the reasonable allocation of resources," he said.

This cooperation with Nvidia includes not only the construction of the data center but also the joint development of a large AI supercomputer, aiming to support the entire technology ecosystem in Taiwan. CEO Jensen Huang of Nvidia stated that this center will serve not only Foxconn but also benefit all technology partners in Taiwan, creating an AI platform suitable for everyone. He pointed out that Nvidia already has 350 partners in Taiwan, and this new center will further promote collaboration among them.

The establishment of this AI data center marks Taiwan's further layout in the global tech competition, providing a strong foundation for future AI development. The partnership between Foxconn and Nvidia not only represents deep cooperation between two major tech giants but also reflects Taiwan's rising influence in the global tech field.
