As a representative of Hangzhou's emerging technological forces, DeepSeek, along with five other start-ups, rapidly rose to prominence last year and this year, earning the nickname of "Six Little Dragons of Hangzhou". These companies focus on artificial intelligence research and application, covering cutting-edge fields such as large models and embodied intelligence. Among them, DeepSeek has drawn significant attention due to its proximity to the technical core and broad application areas. In January this year, it set a record by adding 100 million new users within a week, showcasing China's vibrant innovative vitality.
The popularity of the "Six Little Dragons" has significantly increased public awareness of artificial intelligence, making Hangzhou, the "Internet capital", one of this year's "trendy cities". To further encourage scientific and technological innovation, the Hangzhou municipal government has continued to increase investment, proposing a "three 15%" goal: the annual growth rate of municipal fiscal science and technology investment will be more than 15%; more than 15% of the newly added financial resources of the municipal level will be used for science and technology investment; and 15% of the existing industrial policy funds will be pooled to concentrate on fostering the development of new quality productivity.
