Xiaohongshu (also known as RED) has recently partnered with the School of Philosophy at Fudan University to launch the "AI Human Talent Training Camp," which aims to introduce philosophical and humanistic thinking into the post-AI training phase. The program is dedicated to cultivating interdisciplinary talents who are proficient in both AI and humanities.
The training camp is jointly initiated by Xiaohongshu's hi lab (Humanistic Intelligence Lab) and the Fudan Philosophy School, inviting philosophy teachers and AI technology experts to serve as mentors and judges. Students will participate in project creation in interdisciplinary groups, discussing topics such as social issues, interpersonal relationships, art aesthetics, and life philosophies. They will collaborate with algorithm engineers to design AI models with more humanistic care.
It is reported that hi lab is an AI research and product team established by Xiaohongshu earlier this year. Its aim is to incorporate broader human wisdom and values into AI systems. The team previously launched the "Humanistic Trainer" program, encouraging researchers with backgrounds in philosophy, anthropology, art, and other fields to participate in model training, infusing AI with emotional and ethical understanding.
Kaiqi, Vice President of Technology at Xiaohongshu, stated that they hope the training camp can expand the boundaries of AI intelligence, enabling AI not only to understand language and data but also to comprehend human emotions and values. This initiative is expected to inspire more young people to explore humanistic intelligence.
The training camp is now open for registration to all students at Fudan University. The first batch of participants will complete their project presentations in September this year, with outstanding results to be selected. This collaboration provides a new model for the integration of AI and humanities in terms of education and research.
