On May 28, Zhang Jun, director of public relations at Tencent, announced on social platforms that Tencent Yuanbao has now achieved seamless integration with WeChat Reading and Qidian Reading. Users can directly jump to reading after searching for books in Yuanbao.
This function means that Tencent Yuanbao has integrated the content resources of WeChat Reading and Qidian Reading into its search results, providing users with a more convenient way to access and read books. Now, users just need to make a reading request in the conversation, and Yuanbao will recommend high-quality books and support one-click redirection to the corresponding reading platform, eliminating the need for additional search steps.
In fact, Tencent Yuanbao had already previewed this feature's launch in the version 2.18.0 update last month. The update notes mentioned that Yuanbao now supports high-quality book recommendations, redirections to WeChat Reading and Qidian Reading, personalized command libraries, as well as natural language generation of Mermaid and UML flowcharts.
This collaboration is seen as an important step by Tencent in promoting the integration of AI applications with content ecosystems. By leveraging the deep accumulation in the reading field from WeChat Reading and Qidian, Yuanbao not only enhances its practicality but also accelerates its evolution into a multimodal, actionable AI assistant.
This update also indicates that Tencent continues to integrate underlying capabilities across its own content resources, making the AI assistant not only "able to speak" but also "able to act."
