Recently, Microsoft announced the launch of a new tool called Bing Video Creator. This tool is based on OpenAI's Sora technology, enabling users to easily create short videos through simple text prompts. Similar to the Bing Image Creator, which was released two years ago, Bing Video Creator brings the functionality of AI video generation to regular users.
Although OpenAI's Sora technology gained significant attention when it was released last year, its high demand for AI infrastructure means it is currently only available to ChatGPT Pro subscribers paying $200 per month. In contrast, Microsoft's newly launched Bing Video Creator is completely free and open to all Bing users, further lowering the barrier to video creation.
Bing Video Creator has been rolled out in the Bing mobile app worldwide (excluding China and Russia) and will soon be available in the Copilot Search experience on the Bing desktop platform. Users simply need to download the Bing mobile app, click on the menu in the bottom right corner, select "Video Creator," and input the text description of the desired video in the prompt box. Once created, users will receive a notification and can watch, download the video, or share it via social media directly.
When using Bing Video Creator, users can choose between fast or standard generation speeds. In fast mode, each user has 10 quick creation credits, and each creation also earns reward points. The maximum video length is 5 seconds, with support for the 9:16 vertical format, which will expand to include the 16:9 format in the future. Notably, while waiting for video generation, users can add two additional videos to their queue, making full use of time to improve efficiency.
Microsoft also stated that the generated videos will be saved in the user's account for up to 90 days, allowing easy access at any time. When Bing Video Creator becomes available on the desktop version, users can achieve image and video creation needs via https://www.bing.com/images/create, further enriching the creative experience.
