Anthropic, which had attempted to use the AI model "Claude" to write blog content, quietly shut down its official blog named "Claude Explains" and redirected the original URL to the company homepage, ending this experimental project that lasted only about a week.

According to insiders, the blog project was originally a pilot intended to combine Claude-generated "tips and tricks"-style content with the company's marketing strategy. Edited by a human editorial team, the blog aimed to showcase AI capabilities in creative writing, code parsing, data analysis, and other fields. Although Anthropic emphasized that human experts would enhance the accuracy of Claude drafts, it never clearly disclosed the proportion of AI versus human-written content in each post.

Claude

Claude Explains once had an independent page focusing on technical topics such as how to simplify complex codebases using Claude. However, TechCrunch noted that despite the quality of the content, the social media response was not ideal. Users questioned the transparency of the content generation process, with many criticizing it as an attempt at "automated content marketing."

According to Ahrefs data, before being shut down, the blog had over 24 external website links, which is not a bad performance for a trial project that lasted less than a month. But this did not change its fate of being abruptly terminated.

Some analysts believe that Anthropic may have been concerned about Claude being overly hyped in terms of writing performance. Even the most advanced large models currently face the issue of "hallucinations," where they confidently generate incorrect information. Recently, Bloomberg and G/O Media have also faced public relations crises due to frequent errors in AI-generated content.

Anthropic previously emphasized that "Claude Explains" was an example of collaboration between human expertise and artificial intelligence, not replacing experts with AI. However, from the current perspective, this experiment has provided a realistic reminder of how AI can enter mainstream content creation: beyond showcasing capabilities, transparency and caution are equally important.
