At the recent VivaTech tech summit held in Paris, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang stated that Europe's artificial intelligence (AI) computing power is expected to grow tenfold within the next two years. This prediction has drawn significant attention from the industry, especially against the backdrop of growing global emphasis on AI technology.

Huang pointed out that Europe is actively building more than 20 "AI Super Factories," which will provide strong infrastructure support for AI development. He emphasized that European countries have realized the importance of AI factories, and several large-scale data centers under construction will have a power supply capacity exceeding 1 gigawatt, making them among the top-tier data centers globally.

"The shortage of AI resources facing researchers and startups will soon be alleviated," Huang said. The future efforts will make AI resources more abundant. During his meeting with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Huang mentioned that the lack of infrastructure is constraining the talent advantage and vitality of startups in the UK's AI field. His trip to Europe was also an important part of NVIDIA's global strategy to promote the application of AI technology.

Although Huang did not disclose specific investment amounts, he estimated that the construction cost of a single AI factory could reach as high as $50 billion. Meanwhile, the EU announced the establishment of a special fund worth 20 billion euros to support the construction of five AI super factories equipped with over 100,000 processors, focusing on the research and training of next-generation AI models.

During his stay in Paris, NVIDIA also announced a series of cooperation plans with European AI infrastructure, including building an "AI Cloud Platform" with French AI company Mistral. This service, named Mistral Compute, will be equipped with 18,000 of NVIDIA's latest Grace Blackwell chips. The first data center will be located in Essonne, France, with plans to expand to other parts of Europe.

To expand the market for AI accelerators, NVIDIA is promoting the construction of national AI infrastructure in various countries. Huang emphasized that "every country should establish its own AI system; data is the cornerstone of AI – the key is not about exporting data, but purchasing equipment to develop independently."

Currently, NVIDIA's European ecosystem has attracted participation from 1.5 million developers, 9,600 companies, and 7,000 startups. To promote AI development in Europe, NVIDIA is deepening collaborations with multiple cloud service providers and telecom operators and plans to build the world's first "Industrial AI Cloud."
