Anthropic, a U.S. startup focused on generative artificial intelligence, recently announced a new feature called "Artifacts," which allows users to create personalized applications. Users can create through simple conversations without any programming knowledge. The launch of this feature marks an important step for Anthropic in the field of artificial intelligence application development.

The Artifacts feature was initially launched last June and became available to all users in August. Users can display various objects they have created, such as images and charts, in a separate area next to the chat window. These outputs are stored in the system's memory, forming independent objects that users can access and use across different sessions.

In the latest announcement, the display method of Artifacts has been improved. Now, users can manage and share their creations on a separate dashboard. At the same time, users can also browse selected applications created by others, which are organized in a dedicated area. Anthropic mentioned in its press release that early users have already started creating various intelligent applications, such as games that can think on their own, smart tutors, and tools that can answer data analysis questions in simple language.

Anthropic showcased some examples of user-created applications, including a drum machine app with independent beat control, a first-person game where players explore a forest, and a side-scrolling game that hits colored blocks. Through this approach, Anthropic hopes to build a platform similar to an app store, promoting sharing and collaboration among users. Any user with a Claude account, including free account users, can freely access these applications.

Additionally, the sharing functionality of Artifacts aligns with Anthropic's original design philosophy of promoting teamwork. Anthropic also introduced usage plans for teams to enhance collaborative capabilities. By simplifying the development process, Artifacts aims to attract users from different backgrounds, whether they are non-programmers or professional developers, so they can realize their creative ideas using this feature.

In the future, Anthropic hopes that the features of Artifacts will attract more developers, both beginners and experienced programmers, who can find suitable creative spaces on this platform.
