At the recent 17th International Transportation Technology and Equipment Exhibition, JD Logistics for the first time unveiled its independently developed unmanned light truck product - JD Logistics VAN. This unmanned light truck has a large cargo space of 24 cubic meters, making it the one with the largest cargo capacity in the logistics industry, and is expected to replace traditional 4.2-meter trucks in logistics shuttle and transfer station operations.
According to the introduction, JD Logistics VAN has a full-load range of up to 400 kilometers and possesses L4-level autonomous driving capability on public roads. This means it can plan the optimal route on its own, accurately identify and flexibly avoid obstacles, and confidently handle complex traffic environments with mixed pedestrian and vehicle traffic. These features give it significant advantages in high-frequency logistics scenarios such as e-commerce warehousing, express sorting, manufacturing supply chain, and cold chain transportation.
Compared to traditional transportation methods, JD Logistics VAN is expected to save about 60% of costs and significantly improve logistics operational efficiency. The launch of this unmanned light truck marks another important breakthrough for JD Logistics in the fields of intelligent and automated logistics, indicating that the logistics industry is about to enter a new era of efficiency and cost optimization.
