Google announced on Thursday that it will add an image-to-video generation feature to its Veo3 AI video generator through the Gemini app, further expanding the capabilities of its AI creation tools.
Feature Integration and Global Expansion
This feature was previously launched in the AI video tool Flow, which Google introduced at its May I/O Developer Conference. Google launched the Veo3-driven video generation feature in May, and it has been available in over 150 countries and regions as of last week.
Currently, only users with the Google AI Ultra and Google AI Pro plans can use the video generation feature, but they are limited to creating three videos per day, without any additional quotas for subsequent creations.
Operation Methods and Unique Features
Users can generate video clips by selecting the "Video" option in the tool menu of the prompt box and uploading a photo. This feature also supports adding sound to videos by describing audio in the prompt. After the video is generated, users can download or share their work with others.
Impressive User Usage Data
Google revealed that since its launch seven weeks ago, users have created over 40 million videos through the Gemini app and Flow tool, showing strong market demand for AI video generation tools.
Digital Watermark Ensures Content Identification
To ensure traceability of AI-generated content, all videos generated using the Veo3 model will have a visible "Veo" watermark and an invisible SynthID digital watermark. SynthID is a technology used by Google AI tools to specifically identify AI-driven digital works.
Earlier this year, Google also released a dedicated detection tool to help users identify content containing SynthID, further improving the management system for AI-generated content.
