According to reports from foreign media, the number of games on the Steam platform that publicly disclose the use of generative AI technology has increased by 800% this year. This indicates that the application of generative AI in the game development field is rapidly becoming widespread.

According to an analysis of Steam games by Totally Human, nearly 8000 games have mentioned the use of generative AI in their descriptions. This number was less than 1000 a year ago, showing an astonishing increase. These AI-driven games currently account for 7% of Steam's total game library, and in games released in 2025, they have reached one-fifth of the proportion.

Notably, although Steam requires games that use generative AI during development to disclose this, the mechanism is voluntary. Therefore, the actual number of games using related technologies may far exceed the current 8000 disclosed ones. This trend suggests that generative AI will play an increasingly important role in future game content creation, character design, and scene generation.
