At the 2025 World Artificial Intelligence Conference, the smart glasses brand Halliday officially launched its first transparent display smart glasses and simultaneously opened pre-sales in mainland China. This product has stood out in the smart glasses market with three core advantages: the first display glasses that support prescription lenses, an ultra-lightweight body weighing 28.5g, and a 12-hour all-day battery life.
The most outstanding feature of Halliday Glasses is its transparent display technology. The optical module is completely hidden within the frame, allowing users to see a 3.5-inch virtual screen at the top right corner of their visual field by simply lifting their eyes. Visually, it is completely indistinguishable from regular glasses. This design philosophy completely removes the "techy" label of traditional smart glasses, enabling the product to truly integrate into daily life scenarios.
Hou Sifan, co-founder of Halliday, shared his unique insights on the future form of smart glasses at the launch event: "In our view, the most valuable function in the future form of smart glasses has never been taking photos or listening to music, but rather the information display itself. Compared to voice, the efficiency of getting information through the eyes is more than ten times higher. We hope to create a smart experience that truly integrates into life without disturbing it, so that smart glasses can provide the right information at the right time."
To achieve a genuine daily wear experience, Halliday invested significant effort in product design. The team selected a retro-style frame combining the Wellington and Boston styles from hundreds of design drafts, offering two color options: tortoiseshell and gradient. This aims to transform smart glasses from "geek tools" into "fashion items," meeting users' daily dressing needs.
More importantly, Halliday has solved a long-overlooked key pain point in the market: allowing nearsighted users who wear regular glasses to upgrade them into smart glasses. The product has achieved major breakthroughs in three key indicators: in terms of vision correction, it supports all types of standard prescription lenses, making it the only display glasses currently available on the market that can be fitted with prescription lenses; in terms of wearing comfort, the weight of 28.5g is consistent with the comfortable range of regular glasses, half of that of similar products; and in terms of battery life, 12 hours of continuous use truly realizes the goal of "wear all day, use all day."
This means that nearsighted users no longer need to choose between "seeing clearly" and "being smart." Halliday can completely replace their regular glasses while providing an upgraded smart experience.
In terms of smart features, Halliday is equipped with standard smart glasses functions such as real-time translation, meeting summaries, smart prompts, and information reminders. The core features of the product are reflected in two aspects: an active AI assistant and an invisible control experience. The active AI assistant can proactively offer help based on the user's current conversation context, directly outputting key information to assist communication and meetings without needing to be awakened or asked. This transforms AI from a "question-and-answer tool" into a "cognitive partner." The invisible control experience allows users to access information discreetly through gestures, using the Halliday Ring ring priced at 499 yuan, which works in conjunction with the transparent display technology.
Because Halliday looks like a regular pair of glasses, there are no visible signs of any smart devices on the outside. Wearing them eliminates concerns about social situations. This design philosophy reflects the team's deep thinking about the future direction of smart glasses.
Notably, Halliday has already achieved remarkable success in overseas markets. As the most successful AI glasses project in the history of Kickstarter and Indiegogo, the product not only broke the global smart glasses crowdfunding record but also received consistent praise from over 800 global tech media outlets due to its unique product concept and technical approach.
The newly released Halliday Glasses uses Gyges Labs' DigiWindow™ transparent display technology, cleverly hiding the entire optical module within the frame. This product, jointly developed by the Halliday team and Gyges Labs, demonstrates new innovative ideas in product definition, manufacturing processes, and market strategies.
In terms of domestic pre-sales, the initial price of Halliday Glasses is 2,499 yuan, with an original price of 2,999 yuan. Consumers can also enjoy a limited-time free lens service, and adding 200 yuan will get the Halliday Ring ring set priced at 499 yuan. Reservation channels are open through the official mini program, and shipments are expected to start in March 2026. Halliday's official representatives stated that they are working hard to increase production capacity and will do their best to achieve the goal of early delivery.
The release of this product marks the transition of the smart glasses industry from the concept validation stage to the practical stage. By solving core pain points such as support for prescription lenses, weight control, and battery life, Halliday provides new possibilities for the popularization of smart glasses.
