In the medical field, fragmented information access has always been a serious challenge. According to Dr. Ido Zamberg, an anesthesiologist and Chief Medical Officer at C8Health, healthcare professionals often need to search through 10 to 15 different systems to find the information they need, which inefficient process increases medical risks and causes significant economic losses.

To address this pain point, New York-based AI startup C8Health offers an AI chatbot and knowledge platform that provides structured and timely solutions for clinical best practices. The company has raised $12 million in Series A funding, bringing its total funding to $18 million. This round was led by Team8, with participation from 10D and Vertex Ventures.

Breaking Information Silos, Enhancing Clinical Efficiency and Quality

C8Health's platform aims to integrate all clinical guidelines found across different applications within hospitals, such as SharePoint, SmartVault, and Docuware, including policies, protocols, guidelines, and educational materials. Its goal is to ensure that this critical knowledge is accessible anytime and anywhere through mobile devices, desktop computers, or even directly within electronic medical records (EMR), so that clinicians do not waste time searching for information.

The company was founded in 2022 and focuses on solving long-standing challenges in the healthcare sector: ensuring evidence-based best practices are truly delivered to every caregiver. C8Health's system not only responds passively to user queries but also proactively displays relevant solutions before scheduled procedures based on behavioral patterns, schedule data, and institutional context, or provides targeted quality reminders when individual performance metrics decline. Galia Rosen Schwarz, CEO and co-founder of C8Health, emphasized that their platform can "push the right content to the right person at the right time, based on the user's role, behavior, and the behavior of similar users."

Fast Growth and Significant Results

C8Health's solution has proven its value in practice. The company has expanded its business to more than 100 hospitals in the United States, with clients including Dartmouth Health Center and Mount Sinai Hospital. In each deployment, clinician adoption rates exceed 90% within three to six months, which is a significant achievement in the medical software field. For example, in the anesthesia department of MetroHealth Hospital, by centralizing over 750 knowledge items, daily engagement reached 3.49 views per user, with nearly 90% of activities coming from mobile devices.

A major highlight of the C8Health platform is its ability to integrate performance data into the same interface where clinicians access knowledge. Users can view cases, collaborators, relevant best practices, their own quality performance, and improvement suggestions in one interface. This real-time, personalized feedback mechanism will change how hospitals improve medical quality, allowing healthcare professionals to receive clear improvement recommendations based on their performance data, rather than relying solely on retrospective management reports.

Designed for Medical Complexity, Broad Future Prospects

Differing from general enterprise software, C8Health is built for the fragmented and time-sensitive environment of modern healthcare. Although the platform's backend uses general large language models (LLMs), all data extraction, cleaning, structuring, and formatting are proprietary technologies, ensuring that clinical knowledge is easy to access, reliable, and relevant.

With the newly raised funds, C8Health plans to deepen collaboration with existing customers and expand to broader system-level deployments. Although currently focused mainly on the hospital market, the company also sees great potential in expanding the platform to outpatient and emergency care environments.
