In 2024, Apple demonstrated a new intelligent version of Siri, claiming it could connect with multiple apps and access various information. However, this version has not been officially released yet, apparently due to being unprepared and thus delayed.

According to the latest report from Bloomberg, Apple is currently testing a new version of Siri that can perform actions directly in different apps through voice commands. At the same time, the company plans to release an updated App Intents framework, allowing developers to open more app features, making them accessible to users through system entry points such as search and shortcuts.

If the new Siri works well with the updated App Intents, users will be able to complete a series of cross-app operations using voice, such as searching for and editing photos, then sending them to contacts, posting comments on social platforms, or directly logging into a service.

The report states that Apple has tested this feature in applications such as Uber, AllTrails, Threads, Temu, Amazon, YouTube, Facebook, and WhatsApp. Previously, Bloomberg had reported that Apple plans to release a completely redesigned Siri in the spring of 2026.
