The two companies will jointly inject new vitality into the intelligent in-car experience for Tesla's domestic market. According to the cooperation content, Volcano Engine will provide large model services to Tesla, helping its vehicle system achieve intelligent upgrades.
According to the latest updated "Tesla In-Car Voice Assistant Terms of Use" on the official website of Tesla China, the newly launched Tesla Model Y L model will be the first to adopt the Doubao large model and DeepSeek model. Both domestic large models are accessed through Volcano Engine. This move marks that Tesla has officially introduced domestic large model technology in the Chinese market, aiming to enhance the intelligence level of its in-car system.
According to the terms, each Tesla vehicle is equipped with an advanced voice assistant function. Owners can easily activate the in-car voice assistant by pressing a physical button, using the voice command "Hey, Tesla," or a custom wake-up word to interact with the vehicle via voice. The Doubao large model will take on the core functions of voice commands, including navigation settings, media playback control, air conditioning temperature adjustment, and other practical operations, as well as the function of querying the owner's manual, providing convenient information search services for owners. The DeepSeek model, on the other hand, focuses on providing AI voice chat services, further enriching the driving experience for owners.
