Recently, Google introduced a brand-new Gemini AI assistant for its spreadsheet tool Google Sheets. This upgrade makes it easier for users to handle data tables, saving them a lot of time and effort.

Earlier last year, Google launched the "Convert to Table" feature, aiming to help users automatically convert meaningful data areas into clean tables. Now, with the addition of Gemini AI, this feature has become smarter and more practical. When users click "Convert to Table," Gemini will automatically analyze and organize the data, not only providing table names for users, such as "Project_Status" (Project Status) or "Office_Expenses" (Office Expenses), but also making reference expressions much simpler.

Previously, users had to manually enter complex formulas, such as =SUM (E2:E15). Now, they just need to specify the smartly converted table, such as =SUM (Office_Expenses [Amount]). This new form of expression can automatically adapt to changes in the data, whether rows are added or deleted, the formula's range will adjust automatically, greatly improving work efficiency.

It is worth noting that this feature is not mandatory; users can disable it through the "Tools" option in the menu. If you are a user of the Google Workspace Business Standard, Premium, or Enterprise plan, or even a subscriber of Google AI Pro and Ultra, you can enjoy this convenience. For users planning to release domains, although they may have to wait until September 12 to experience it, they can choose to switch to a fast-release domain to try it earlier.

With the addition of Gemini AI, Google's innovation in office software has further enhanced the user experience, making data processing more convenient. Whether handling daily work data or project management, this new feature can become a powerful assistant in the hands of users.
