As Hollywood continues to release the same trilogy of movies, Amit Jain, founder and CEO of Luma AI, is deeply concerned. Jain said that the current difficulties in the film industry are closely related to its conservative creative approach. To drive innovation, Luma AI is collaborating with many creators, actively applying its AI video generation technology, and has opened an AI lab in Los Angeles to help filmmakers integrate AI into their creations.

In a recent interview, Jain critically assessed the current state of the film industry: "If Hollywood continues down this path, it's already dead." He believes that the consolidation of the film industry and the constant repetition of the same stories have led to creative stagnation. Jain pointed out that producing a blockbuster costing 100 million or 200 million limits the exploration of new ideas. "Why make only 5 to 10 big films each year instead of trying 50 to 100 new ideas?" he asked.

Jain emphasized that the decline in visual arts and the production model of Hollywood urgently need to change, and this can only be achieved by trying new ideas. He is confident that AI will be the key tool for this transformation, helping filmmakers explore new ideas at a lower cost and faster speed. "AI allows Hollywood to touch novelty again," he said.

Previously, Luma AI officially launched its latest video generation model Ray3. Jain introduced that Ray3 is the first generative video model with reasoning capabilities, able to self-evaluate and ensure it meets the creators' requirements. This means that creators can draw arrows on static images to guide actions, and the model will move people, animals, or objects along the direction of the arrows based on the guidance.
