With the continuous development of artificial intelligence technology, search engines are also constantly updating. Recently, browser manufacturer Brave announced that its AI-driven search platform Ask Brave will launch a new feature aimed at providing users with more detailed answers. This feature complements the AI Answers function introduced last year, which mainly provides brief answers to search queries. Brave stated that more than 15 million people use its service for searching every day.

When using Ask Brave, users don't need to switch to a special mode; the search engine automatically identifies the type of query and provides corresponding answers. Users can simply click the question button next to the Brave search bar or select the Ask tag on the search results page to turn a regular query into an AI search query. Additionally, if users set Brave as their default search engine, they can add double question marks ("??") after a query to activate Ask Brave's search function.

Josep M. Pujol, Brave's Chief Search Officer, said: "While AI Answers provides users with quick summary information, Ask Brave offers longer, more detailed answers, follow-up questions, and a chat mode, incorporating elements of in-depth research. It also includes contextually relevant rich content such as videos, news articles, products, businesses, and shopping information, ensuring that users receive the information they need at the right time and place." Pujol also mentioned that they look forward to Ask Brave generating more AI-driven answers every day and continuing to introduce more useful AI search tools.

When using Ask Brave, the answers are formatted similarly to reports provided by ChatGPT or Perplexity, including links, videos, and image carousels. Once an answer is obtained, users can also ask the AI chatbot to convert the answer into different formats or ask follow-up questions.

Brave stated that the accuracy of search results will be verified through its own API and in-depth research will be conducted for certain queries. Currently, AI-driven Q&A features are quietly gaining popularity across multiple search experiences, and Google also expanded its AI mode to multiple languages, including a global release in Spanish last week. However, Brave promises to encrypt users' chat records and delete unused records after 24 hours.
