Figma, a design platform, recently announced a collaboration with Google to integrate Gemini AI technology into its design tools. This partnership aims to meet the evolving needs of product designers and their teams. Figma had previously launched its own AI app-building tool, and this collaboration with Google will introduce multiple Gemini models, including Gemini 2.5 Flash, Gemini 2.0, and Imagen 4.

Through this collaboration, Gemini 2.5 Flash will be integrated into Figma's image editing and generation capabilities. Figma users can create AI-generated images by entering prompts and request specific changes. According to the company, this new feature will significantly improve workflow efficiency. In early testing, users using Gemini 2.5 Flash saw a 50% reduction in latency in the "generate image" feature.

This collaboration comes at a time when several top AI companies are accelerating the integration of their models into existing applications, aiming to gain a leading position in the competitive consumer market. Notably, OpenAI also announced this week that its users can now "chat" with multiple applications, including Figma, within ChatGPT, indicating that Figma's collaboration with Google is not exclusive.

Meanwhile, Google also launched Gemini Enterprise, an AI-powered conversational platform designed for enterprise customers, aiming to integrate AI into existing business workflows. Users can interact with company documents, data, and applications, while engineers can use tools to build and deploy AI agents or use existing agents.

Google sees this announcement as an opportunity to improve productivity and streamline workflows, which coincides with an increasing number of businesses relying on these integrations. Google mentioned that currently, 65% of Google Cloud customers are using its AI products.

In addition to the collaboration with Figma, Google has also reached AI cooperation agreements with multiple companies, including GAP, Gordon Foods, Klarna, and Macquarie Bank. These new partners will join existing Gemini partners such as Banco BV, Deloitte, and the U.S. Department of Energy.
