The American magazine TIME recently announced its highly anticipated 2025 Best Inventions of the Year list, featuring 300 innovative products. This year's list is full of highlights, including breakthrough products from several global tech giants such as Unitree, DeepSeek, Huawei, BYD, and Apple.
In the robotics field, Unitree's UnitreeR1 human-like bipedal robot was successfully selected. TIME magazine commented that unlike the current mainstream robotic forms such as drones or autonomous cars, the Unitree R1 is an outstanding example of humanoid robots envisioned in science fiction.
The R1 robot has 26 joints (compared to 300 in humans), enabling it to perform a series of complex movements, such as boxing, running, and even impressive backflips, which have amazed the audience.
On the artificial intelligence (AI) invention list, DeepSeek's R1 reasoning large model was honorably selected. TIME magazine highly praised this model, stating that its emergence at the beginning of this year can be described as "the first shot that echoed around the world in the AI field."
In the competitive consumer electronics sector, Chinese tech giant Huawei and Apple were both listed. The product that Huawei submitted was its flagship model Pura80Ultra, while Apple's entry was its latest wireless earphones, AirPods Pro3.
Additionally, BYD's Sea Swallow electric vehicle also successfully made the list in the transportation invention category, demonstrating the leading position and innovative achievements of Chinese brands in the new energy vehicle market.
This time, TIME magazine's selection once again highlighted the strong capabilities of Chinese companies in global technological innovation, especially in cutting-edge fields such as AI, robotics, and electric vehicles.
