Startup Strella recently announced a $14 million Series A funding round, aiming to further expand its AI-based customer research platform. The round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with participation from Decibel Partners, Bain Future Back Ventures, MVP Ventures, and 645Ventures. This company, less than a year old, aims to help businesses like Amazon and Duolingo speed up the collection of customer feedback, solving the problem of traditional research methods that take too long.

The founders of Strella, Lydia Hylton and Priya Krishnan, were former consultants and product managers. They found that the traditional customer research process often took eight weeks, involving multiple steps such as writing interview guides, recruiting participants, scheduling calls, conducting interviews, and taking notes. To address this, Strella uses AI technology to compress the process into just a few days. Using voice interviews, AI replaces humans in asking questions and recording feedback, saving a significant amount of time and effort.

The platform has already served more than 40 companies, including Amazon and Chobani, conducting thousands of AI-hosted interviews, with an average of 90% time saved on manual research. Additionally, Strella's interview model makes participants more honest in front of AI, resulting in higher quality feedback, which challenges the common perception of AI's reliability.

As companies increase their demands for customer experience, Strella's product perfectly meets the market needs. The company's revenue increased tenfold in October last year, with zero customer churn, showing strong market potential. In the future, Strella plans to expand mobile app features, enabling real-time screen sharing to further improve the convenience and effectiveness of user research.
