According to foreign media reports, a woman in Michigan, USA recently created a fun story about winning the lottery: she revealed that she used a set of numbers generated by the AI chatbot ChatGPT and successfully won a $100,000 (approximately 709,000 RMB) Powerball lottery prize.

The Michigan Lottery confirmed that Tammy Carvey, a 45-year-old woman from Wyandotte, matched four white balls and the Powerball in the drawing on September 6, originally winning a $50,000 prize. Because she activated the "Power Play" option when purchasing the ticket, the prize amount doubled to $100,000.

Carvey said she doesn't often play Powerball, but she decided to buy a ticket when the jackpot accumulated over $1 billion. She had a sudden idea and asked ChatGPT to generate a set of numbers, then purchased the ticket online through the Michigan Lottery's official website.

Carvey recalled the winning process at a press conference: "When I checked the winning numbers, I found that I matched four white balls and the Powerball, and I knew I definitely won. I looked it up on Google, and it showed that this was a $50,000 prize, so I thought I had won that amount."

She then added: "It wasn't until I logged into my Michigan Lottery account that I realized I had activated the 'Power Play' feature when purchasing the ticket, and the actual prize was $100,000. My husband and I couldn't believe it."

The Michigan Lottery stated that Carvey has recently gone to the headquarters to collect her prize, and she plans to use the unexpected money to pay off her mortgage. The Powerball lottery is sold in 45 states in the United States and several regions, with each ticket costing $2, and the "Power Play" feature can increase non-jackpot prizes by up to 10 times.
