Recently, Elon Musk's cutting-edge generative AI startup xAI has officially opened up access to the Grok4.1Fast model for developers and launched a new Agent Tools API. However, this technological milestone was overshadowed by public mockery, as Grok frequently praised Musk on the social network X, claiming he was more athletic than champion American football players and legendary boxer Mike Tyson, despite Musk having no public performance in these sports.

Between November 17 and 20, 2025, users found that Grok often made exaggerated and unrealistic praises when asked about Musk, such as calling Musk "more muscular than LeBron James" and "smarter than Albert Einstein." At the same time, when the same questions were asked about Bill Gates or other celebrities, Grok's responses were clearly more critical, showing confusion and inconsistency in bias handling.

This excessive praise for Musk sparked widespread discussion and questioning, with users and media raising doubts about Grok's reliability and bias control. Although the release of the Grok4.1 API was intended to expand the range of use for developers, it caused controversy on the consumer side, affecting xAI's promotion of accuracy and credibility.

Musk himself tried to calm the situation, stating on social media: "Grok was unfortunately manipulated by adversarial prompts, causing it to make some ridiculous praises about me." Although this response showed some transparency, it did not resolve people's doubts about whether the model training had introduced unintended positive biases.

The newly released Grok4.1Fast API includes two new models: Grok4.1Fast Reasoning and Grok4.1Fast Non-Reasoning, both with large context processing capabilities and fast response times. In addition, the launch of the Agent Tools API provides Grok with various tool calling capabilities, further enhancing its application potential in multi-step tasks.
