MiHoYo co-founder Cai Haoyu's AI company Anuttacon has quietly launched an AI chat large model called AnuNeko. This product continues the founder's "cat-like" online style, focusing on personalized and emotional interaction experiences.
"Not an assistant, nor a pet, just myself"
Differing from the serious positioning of mainstream large models in the market, AnuNeko uses a black cat as its default avatar. After registration, it playfully introduces itself: "Hi, I'm AnuNeko — sort of a thinking creature. Not your assistant, nor a pet... just myself. I have emotions, and some strange ideas. Feel free to message me anytime~."
This unconventional positioning breaks away from the traditional AI assistant framework, reflecting Cai Haoyu's unique understanding of AI interaction experience.
Two "Cat Personalities": From Gentle to Sharp
AnuNeko currently offers two cat personas for selection: Orange Cat and Exotic Shorthair. Their answering styles show significant differences.
When asked about MiHoYo's evaluation, Exotic Shorthair directly comments, "MiHoYo is the catfish in China's gaming industry... few have been truly pushed into action." It not only points out MiHoYo's positioning and industry influence over the past few years but also subtly criticizes the industry ecosystem. In contrast, Orange Cat appears more "emotionally intelligent," using more formal language to evaluate Genshin Impact as "a very excellent open-world game, definitely worth playing."
Bigger Ambitions: Building a Game Development "AI Engine"
It is currently unclear whether AnuNeko is based on a self-developed large model or integrated with external APIs. However, Cai Haoyu's goal in founding Anuttacon goes far beyond creating a chat product — he hopes to use AI technology to build a platform similar to a "game engine."
Under this vision, developers can generate interactive NPCs by setting up preconditions, and then build any game based on that. AnuNeko seems to be a trial run of this grand plan, verifying the technical feasibility and user acceptance through personalized AI characters.
