Recently, a teacher in Tampa, Florida was sentenced to 135 years in prison for using artificial intelligence to create child pornography. David McKiernan, 47, had taught sixth grade at the United Christian Brothers Academy. In June of this year, police received a report about a Discord user sharing child sexual abuse material, and they launched an investigation that led to his arrest.

During the investigation, police found that McKiernan used the school's Wi-Fi to share files and chat with others while on duty. He not only shared students' personal information and photos, but also some explicit images that appeared to be generated by artificial intelligence. The case has sparked widespread public attention and outrage.

The prosecutor pointed out that McKiernan's actions involved child pornography, and police also found photos of him engaging in sexual acts with his pet animals on his devices. James Usry, the attorney general of Florida, stated that the abuse and trauma caused by offenders are shocking, and strict punishment must be imposed. He emphasized that the judicial system will seek the harshest penalties for any act that harms innocent children or animals.

Ultimately, McKiernan was charged with multiple counts, including one count of aggravated possession of child pornography, 18 counts of possession of child pornography, and six counts of engaging in sexual acts with animals. The court imposed a 135-year prison sentence as a form of punishment and warning.

This case highlights the security risks within educational institutions and reminds society of the importance of child protection.
