To double down on its "AI-first" strategy and attract more users, Adobe announced a major collaboration on Wednesday: integrating core features of Photoshop, Express, and Acrobat into the ChatGPT chatbot. Users can now directly use Adobe's powerful tools to edit images, modify PDFs, or create animation elements through this AI platform.

Three Core Products, Enabling AI Command Operations

This integration marks a significant transformation in Adobe product workflows, allowing users to control professional tools through natural language commands:

  • Photoshop: Users can now instruct ChatGPT to perform detailed image editing tasks, including editing specific areas, removing or blurring backgrounds, adjusting exposure, brightness, contrast, or applying various effects. The chatbot will also provide slider options, allowing users to adjust effect intensity.

  • Express: With support for Express, users can tell ChatGPT to perform tasks such as retrieving existing designs from the library, combining theme ideas, adding animations to elements, and editing designs.

  • Acrobat (PDF Editing): ChatGPT can handle professional PDF tasks, such as merging files, editing or extracting text or tables from files.

Adobe emphasized that at any time, users can choose to exit ChatGPT and continue working in Adobe's native applications to utilize complex features not available in the chatbot.

Global Deployment and Platform Differences

Adobe stated that these new features will be rolled out globally. Full Functionality Support: The desktop, web, and iOS versions of ChatGPT support all features of Adobe's three applications. Partial Support: Currently, the Android version of ChatGPT only supports Adobe Express, with support for Photoshop and Acrobat coming soon.

This integration is the latest move in Adobe's continued investment in AI strategy. Previously, the company released AI assistants for Express and Photoshop and announced the cross-application assistant Project Moonlight.
