Time magazine has named "The Architects of Artificial Intelligence" as its Person of the Year for 2025. This is the second time in history that this honor has been given to a technological field rather than an individual. This choice reflects the growing importance of artificial intelligence in global industries and public life.

Time magazine has launched two covers. One features the letters "Artificial Intelligence" (AI) like a monument under construction, while the other reimagines the classic "Lunch in the Skyline" scene, with tech leaders sitting on high steel beams instead of workers. The people featured in the image include: Huang Renxun, CEO of NVIDIA; Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta; Elon Musk, CEO of X; Fei-Fei Li, an AI pioneer; Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI; Suzanne C. Alameel, CEO of AMD; Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic; and Demis Hassabis, co-founder of Google DeepMind.

Time magazine pointed out that 2025 marks a turning point from cautious to rapid deployment, with many companies investing billions in AI models and chip infrastructure. Altman recently mentioned that ChatGPT is used by about 800 million people every week, indicating that artificial intelligence has deeply integrated into people's daily lives. Zuckerberg, on the other hand, has centered Meta's strategy around its AI chatbot, widely applying it across major applications.

Thomas Hassen, an analyst at Forrester, said this year is a turning point, and many people are now using artificial intelligence without realizing it, as it is embedded in phones, computers, and online services. He believes that the spread of artificial intelligence has already surpassed the rise of the internet or smartphones. The editors of Time said that no group has had a greater impact on shaping this year than those who design, fund, and deliver these systems, emphasizing that the future direction of artificial intelligence will be determined by humans, not by technology itself.
