Stepfun recently officially launched the Windows version of its AI desktop companion, "Xiaoyue." This product is defined as a terminal intelligent agent that "can do tasks, is always present, has memory, and can evolve," aiming to completely reshape the user's desktop office experience by deeply integrating with the operating system.

In terms of functionality, Xiaoyue for Windows brings significant automation capabilities. Through MCP (Model Context Protocol), Xiaoyue can deeply call 16 third-party tools including Excel, QQ Email, and Feishu. This means users no longer need to frequently switch windows manually; they just need to give instructions, and the intelligent agent can complete complex cross-application operations, such as automatically sending personalized emails or performing professional sports data analysis.

In addition to breakthroughs in operation, Xiaoyue has also enhanced its deep perception of the user's workflow. This upgrade introduced the "Global Memory" feature, which can automatically organize the user's computer activity trajectory and generate detailed daily review reports to help users sort out their work rhythm. To address user concerns about security, Stepfun emphasized that all trajectory data are encrypted and stored locally on the user's device, and are never uploaded to the cloud.

Additionally, the new "Synchronized Application" function allows the AI to have "eyes." It can automatically identify the content of the currently active window as the conversation context, truly achieving "what you see is what you ask." Currently, "Global Memory" and "Synchronized Application" features are already available on the Mac version, and future iterations of the Windows version will continue to follow up. In terms of underlying technology, the Step3 large model driving this intelligent agent has been open-sourced on platforms such as Gitee, and its expert mixture (MoE) architecture achieves an excellent balance between performance and inference cost.
