After a turbulent period marked by layoffs, studio closures, and multiple failed projects, the renowned game company Ubisoft has officially revealed its new future survival rules. According to AIbase, Ubisoft plans to consolidate its operations, focusing core resources precisely on two key areas: "open-world adventures" and "native service games," and aims to achieve a generation-defining leap in development efficiency through generative AI technology.

In its official statement, Ubisoft clearly stated that the new operating model is aimed at improving strategic execution. Although Ubisoft has repeatedly encountered difficulties in the service game field and even made controversial remarks such as "single-player games are outdated," the company's senior management still firmly believes that service games with long-term operation capabilities are the pivot of the industry's future. To this end, Ubisoft has specifically established the "Creative Workshop CH3," responsible for integrating online-driven products including "The Crew," "Red Dead Redemption," and "Sea of Thieves."

Notably, Ubisoft's attitude towards generative AI is extremely aggressive. According to AIbase, Ubisoft views it as a major opportunity equivalent to the 3D technology revolution and plans to continue increasing investment in AI for players. Currently, even after cutting down six projects, Ubisoft still has four new IPs under active development. This "all-in" transformation driven by AI and using service games as a stake has become a focal point of industry attention, whether it can bring this veteran giant back to its peak.
