Peter Steinberger, a renowned developer, recently announced that his popular open-source AI assistant project Clawdbot has officially been renamed Moltbot. The main reason for the name change was the risk of trademark conflict with Claude from Anthropic (due to the similarity between Clawd and Claude). The new name Moltbot symbolizes "emerging reborn."

However, an unexpected "secondary disaster" occurred during the renaming process. Just seconds after Peter announced the name change and released the old Twitter account @clawdbot, it was quickly registered by cryptocurrency scammers. The scammers used the account to impersonate an official identity and promoted a fake cryptocurrency called $CLAWD.

Due to many fans not being aware of the name change in time, they mistakenly believed this was an official coin launch and started buying it. Faced with the chaos, Peter had to urgently post multiple tweets to clarify, firmly stating that he never issued or would ever issue any cryptocurrency, and reminding users that this coin was a complete scam. Subsequently, the price of the fake coin plummeted drastically.
