On Tuesday, Google announced that it has officially expanded the "Personal Intelligence" feature, previously available only to paying users, to all personal accounts in the United States. This move marks a significant leap in the Gemini ecosystem, shifting from "general knowledge Q&A" to "personalized private perception."

Core Capabilities: Breaking Application Silos and Achieving Scenario-Based Perception
The core of "Personal Intelligence" lies in its powerful ecosystem connectivity. By integrating native apps like Gmail and Google Photos, Gemini is no longer just a chatbot but an intelligent personal assistant with contextual memory.
Consumer Insights: In Chrome browser, AI can accurately recommend matching items based on users' recent purchase history and brand preferences (such as matching a new golden pair of shoes with a bag of the same style).
Life Assistance: Users don't need to remember trivial information; AI can identify tire size by analyzing photos in Google Photos (such as a close-up of a car's tire) and recommend suitable seasonal tires based on past travel records.
Deep Travel Customization: By combining hotel confirmation emails in Gmail with past memories in Photos (such as a preference for ice cream), AI can automatically plan a customized travel itinerary that suits the tastes of family members.
Privacy and Security: Default Off, Not Involved in Basic Training
In response to user concerns about privacy, Google emphasized that this feature follows the **"user-initiated opt-in"** principle and is default off. Users can decide independently whether to authorize the AI to connect to specific services. Additionally, Google promises that Gemini will not directly use users' Gmail or Google Photos raw data for model training, but will only perform targeted optimization based on specific prompts and responses.
This feature is now available in Google Search's AI mode and is gradually being rolled out to free users of the Gemini App and Chrome browser in the U.S. market. It should be noted that this feature is limited to personal Google accounts and does not currently support Workspace enterprise, company, or education edition users.
