The Beijing Internet Information Office has launched a one-month "Clear and Bright Jinghua · AI for Good" special campaign aimed at addressing the abuse of AI technology, maintaining a healthy online environment, and promoting the healthy development of artificial intelligence technology.

Key issues to be rectified:

  • Crack down on AI-generated pornographic and vulgar information: Focus on eliminating the use of AI to synthesize and spread information that is harmful to minors, such as pornography and violence, as well as the sale of illegal AI "clothing removal" services and applications.

  • Strictly rectify AI-generated infringement and counterfeiting information: Focus on combating illegal activities involving the unauthorized use of AI face-swap and voice synthesis technologies to impersonate public figures for commercial marketing or advertising promotions.

  • Severely investigate AI-generated false rumors: Crack down on the malicious creation and alteration of false information related to politics, people's livelihood, and emergencies using AI, and prevent malicious hype through methods like misrepresentation.

  • Strictly rectify the sale of "AI identification removal" services: Focus on cracking down on profit-driven activities that involve selling or teaching how to remove, alter, or hide AI identification tools and tutorials through e-commerce and social media platforms.

  • Guide platforms to enhance review and handling capabilities: Urge websites and platforms to fulfill their primary responsibilities, and improve their technical capabilities for identifying, tracing, and quickly handling AI-generated content.

The Beijing Internet Information Office stated that it will continue to supervise local platforms in implementing the measures, ensure the effectiveness of the special campaign, and actively create an upward and positive online environment.
