Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, made a major statement on the X platform. He clearly stated that all legal proceeds obtained, totaling $134 billion (approximately 92.28 billion yuan), if he wins the lawsuit against OpenAI and Microsoft, will be fully donated to charitable organizations, and he will not retain any personal interest.
Core of the Lawsuit: Deviating from the Original Purpose and "Ongoing Harassment"
The focus of this legal battle is the transformation of OpenAI's nature. As a co-founder, Musk accuses the company of abandoning its original commitment in 2015 to be "non-profit and open source" and instead pursuing commercial profits:
Controversy over Transformation: Musk believes that OpenAI's shift to a "profit-limited" structure violates the original agreement.
Competitive Relationship: OpenAI, on the other hand, argues that Musk's lawsuit is a "continuous harassment" driven by his own xAI's competitive motives, aiming to interfere with their normal research and development.
Currently, both sides have entered an intense pre-trial battle:
March 2025: A federal judge dismissed Musk's attempt to prevent OpenAI from transforming into a for-profit company.
April 28, 2026: The case will formally go to trial, where a jury will make the final decision.
Musk's promise of this "billions package" has once again raised public attention on this case. If he wins, this large sum could become one of the largest single charitable donations in human history.
