April 13th news, in order to gather global academic consensus and work together to promote AI governance, under the organization of the China Association for Science and Technology, 16 professional academic institutions including the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence, the Chinese Computer Society, and the World Robotics Cooperation Organization jointly released the "Global AI Governance Science and Technology Association Initiative" today. The initiative closely focuses on the two core aspects of "benefiting people's livelihood" and "safe control", clearly stating that AI academic research should follow the fundamental principle of promoting the common well-being of humanity, ensuring that technological development always serves the common interests of all mankind.

The initiative emphasizes that safety is the bottom line of AI research and governance, and it must ensure that technology remains within the controllable scope of humans. At the same time, the initiative calls for respecting the equal rights of countries to participate in governance and their independently formulated policy paths. In terms of implementation, the 16 initiating organizations advocate establishing a cross-sector, diverse collaborative mechanism, breaking down cooperation barriers to gather the wisdom of global scientists and promote the mutual learning and construction of the governance system. In addition, the initiative also proposes conducting popular science dialogues through multiple channels to enhance the scientific literacy of the public and respond to social concerns.
Given the transnational nature of artificial intelligence, the initiative finally calls on global science and technology associations to uphold their professional ethics and strengthen international cooperation with an open and inclusive attitude. Through practical measures, it promotes "AI for good" and contributes the wisdom and strength of the academic community to building a community with a shared future for humanity.
