According to the latest leaked information, Samsung's upcoming Galaxy smart glasses have a design very similar to Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses. The new device, codenamed "Jinju," is expected to be announced at next month's Google I/O event, with a price range of $379 to $499, comparable to the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 without a display.
It is reported that Samsung's glasses will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 processor, a 12-megapixel Sony IMX681 camera, and a 155mAh battery, as well as bone conduction speakers. However, it is worth noting that these glasses do not have an internal display. Samsung seems to be reserving space for future more advanced glasses, codenamed "Haean," which is expected to be released in 2027, with a price range of $600 to $900, competing with the updated version of the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses.
If not announced at the Google I/O event in May, Samsung's first smart glasses may appear at an Unpacked event later this year. Earlier, Samsung announced a collaboration with Google to launch a smart glasses, planned for release in 2025, while last year they launched their first Android XR-enabled device — the Galaxy XR headset.
Earlier this year, Samsung also mentioned that another smart glasses would be released in 2026, however, the design and features of this device remain largely unknown so far. This glasses are part of a series of collaborations by Google for the Android XR platform, with other partners including Warby Parker, Gentle Monster, and recently Gucci.
