At the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, Volc Engine officially launched its next-generation automotive AI solution based on Agentic AI architecture. This solution, through two core products—AI Cockpit Kit and Doubao Cockpit Assistant—aims to elevate intelligent cockpits from simple "voice interaction" to a "smart brain" level with autonomous driving capabilities.
Agentic AI is centered on giving systems the ability to think and act independently. Yang Liwei, Vice President of Volc Engine, stated that this upgrade aims to break the boundaries of current cockpit capabilities by deeply integrating three core engines, transforming vehicles not just into tools for executing commands, but into intelligent entities capable of understanding needs and solving problems proactively.
Deeply empowering mainstream automakers, the deployment of Doubao large model exceeds 7 million units
Currently, Volc Engine's layout in the automotive field has achieved significant results, with cooperation with 100% of domestic mainstream automakers. Data shows that the number of smart cars equipped with the Doubao large model has exceeded 7 million. This large-scale implementation not only verifies the high reliability of the model but also provides substantial data support for continuous iteration of AI technology.
To meet different automakers' customized needs, Volc Engine has introduced two delivery models: the AI Cockpit Kit solution focuses on flexible capability output, making it convenient for automakers to perform deep integration; while the Doubao Cockpit Assistant solution is a complete product-level delivery, helping brands quickly achieve mass production of AI features.
Strategic cooperation is rapidly taking shape, with multiple mass-produced models set to launch this year
As the technology matures, Volc Engine's automotive partner network is expanding rapidly. Recently, Dongfeng Motor signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Volc Engine, exploring new application scenarios for the Doubao large model. At the same time, Rongwei also announced a partnership, launching a new AI-native car series called "Jiayue."
According to official plans, the cooperative models based on the new Agentic AI solution will be officially mass-produced this year. This means that the competition in cockpit AI has officially entered a decisive phase, shifting from mere technology demonstration to a comprehensive competition based on user experience. The interaction logic of smart cars will also undergo a qualitative transformation, from "understanding human language" to "being able to get things done."
