Recently, the Guangzhou Artificial Intelligence Industry Development Office released the "2026 Work Plan for the Development of Guangzhou's Artificial Intelligence Industry," clearly stating that Guangzhou aims to become a "city of vertical model" and a demonstration highland for artificial intelligence applications, and has set detailed "ten hundred thousand" development goals.
According to this plan, Guangzhou's goal by 2026 is to establish two industry application common technology service platforms and to focus on cultivating 40 vertically specialized large models with strong market competitiveness. At the same time, the city will accelerate the development of 450 intelligent application scenarios and promote the introduction of relevant development promotion regulations and implementation details. To provide solid financial support for the industry, Guangzhou plans to complete the establishment of an artificial intelligence industry investment fund by mid-2026, and improve the industrial chain layout through precise investment attraction.
In the practical implementation of "AI+", Guangzhou has focused on 14 key areas, including healthcare, elderly care, education, intelligent manufacturing, and finance. The official plan is to cultivate more than 100 vertical large models between 2026 and 2028, and provide comprehensive support from multiple dimensions such as technological innovation, talent aggregation, and ecological support. As a neighboring city, Shenzhen has also issued an action plan, proposing to build hundreds of vertical industry models in the field of advanced manufacturing by 2027.
