At the MediaTek Dimensity Developer Conference (MDDC2026) held recently, OPPO officially launched the world's first on-device AIGC lighting processing engine. This technology is undoubtedly a boon for photography enthusiasts, especially when shooting outdoors, where complex lighting conditions such as backlit, bright light, and overlapping shadows often occur. These issues can lead to dark faces in portraits, overexposed backgrounds, or lost details, which have been a source of frustration for many photography enthusiasts.
OPPO's new engine is based on its self-developed DiT architecture generative large model. Users can optimize photos locally on their phones without connecting to the internet. With this technology, users can easily restore natural lighting effects even under challenging conditions such as low light or backlit scenes, and the generated photo quality can even rival that of cloud models.

At this conference, OPPO also showcased another impressive technology: on-device AI translation technology based on the Dimensity 9500 chip. This technology processes vocabulary at a speed of up to 300 tokens per second, allowing users to enjoy near-instantaneous translation experiences even without an internet connection. In addition, OPPO also unveiled its first on-device multimodal fusion understanding and interaction AI model — the on-device all-modal Omni model. This model can process video, audio, and text inputs simultaneously and provides real-time environmental descriptions and on-site Q&A.
Notably, OPPO's super assistant "Xiaobu Claw" also made its debut at this conference. It demonstrates powerful core capabilities in areas such as AI content generation, information organization, and health management. Users' local photo albums, notes, and documents can all be fully utilized by "Xiaobu" to provide personalized recommendations, ensuring that all sensitive data is processed on the device itself, thereby safeguarding user privacy.
OPPO's innovative technologies mark another breakthrough in the field of AI applications on smartphones, offering users a more convenient and efficient experience.
