On May 27, the Hangzhou Holographic Intelligent Technology Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as "the Institute") held a research-industry integration launch event in the Smart Internet Valley Town of the Grand Canal Digital Intelligence City. The event officially unveiled the first six joint laboratories established in collaboration with leading industry enterprises, marking a systematic step forward for the Institute from "scientific research transformation" to "industrial collaborative innovation."
1. Six Laboratories: Covering Core AI Tracks
The six joint laboratories that made their debut focus precisely on cutting-edge areas of artificial intelligence, aiming to bridge the gap between "laboratories" and "application fields":
Joint Laboratory of Intelligent Graphics Technology (co-established with Xiangxin Technology): Focuses on advanced 3D reconstruction and real-time 3DGS rendering technologies, aiming to enable virtual digital humans to evolve from "voice and appearance" to "emotional and intelligent." It has already achieved phased results and applied for three national invention patents.
Joint Laboratory of Digital Power Conversion and Control (co-established with Zhenchui Technology): Extends new energy vehicle electric drive technology to low-altitude economy (eVTOL) and embodied intelligent robot joint modules, achieving deep integration of power infrastructure and computing clusters.
Joint Laboratory of Industrial Intelligence (co-established with Ruixiu Technology): Focuses on AI-CAD, industrial world models, and generative design, promoting the evolution of industrial design toward "AI autonomous design."
Joint Laboratory of Intelligent Engineering Computing (co-established with Maidatech): Focuses on CAD graphic language and engineering logic understanding, pushing AI from simple drawing recognition to in-depth engineering reasoning.
Joint Laboratory of Embodied Intelligence and Motion Control (co-established with Zhongshu Moka): Devoted to the collaborative optimization of embodied intelligence hardware and software.
Joint Laboratory of Smart Energy Management (co-established with Jianda Intelligent): Focuses on energy-saving management technology in industrial scenarios.
2. Innovative Closed Loop: "Above and Below" Collaboration Model
The Hangzhou Holographic Intelligent Technology Research Institute was jointly established by Zhejiang University and the Gongshu District Government in June 2024. As a high-level scientific and technological innovation platform, the Institute innovated the "above and below" research-industry collaboration mechanism:
Research Leadership: Relying on the top academic resources of the National Key Laboratory of CAD&CG at Zhejiang University, the Institute provides research support from theory to frontier technology.
Industrial Implementation: The laboratories directly connect with enterprise needs, transforming the code of research teams into testable product systems. As the director of the Institute stated, this "mutual effort" solves the dual challenges of scientists not understanding market demands and entrepreneurs lacking fundamental R&D capabilities.
3. Development Vision: Building a National AI Innovation High Ground
Since its establishment, the Institute has quickly built a "technology research and development - enterprise incubation - industrial implementation" virtuous cycle along the Grand Canal. Currently, the Institute has established a high-level full-time research team and has cultivated more than 50 digital economy innovation enterprises, including eight national high-tech enterprises.
The collective unveiling of the six joint laboratories is not only a "harvest inspection" of the Institute's two years of development achievements but also an important measure to help Hangzhou build the "first city for national AI innovation and development." In the future, as these research results accelerate their implementation, the Grand Canal Digital Intelligence City will further solidify its strategic position as an AI innovation high ground, injecting powerful scientific and technological driving force into regional high-quality development.
