On June 17, WeChat Pay officially launched the "AI Dedicated Card," a payment tool specifically designed for AI agents. This innovative payment solution allows users to directly express their consumption needs during interactions with Agents, achieving a full-circle closed loop from intelligent recommendations, placing orders to payments.
The product has now been launched on the Mac version 5.1.1 of the WorkBuddy platform. Users can call the "Meituan Life Assistant" through the expert page and directly purchase life group services through the "AI Dedicated Card."
Against the backdrop of traditional AI applications being limited by information retrieval and dialogue generation, WeChat Pay's move directly addresses the final mile payment fund flow issues for Agent deployment. In response to the widespread concerns about fund security and unauthorized consumption risks, WeChat Pay has adopted an "account isolation" architectural design, where the "AI Dedicated Card" is independent of the main WeChat Pay account, and Agents can only access a limited balance within the dedicated card.
At the same time, the card's quota supports immediate transfers in and out, and each order must be authorized by the user themselves before final execution, ensuring controllability of the fund flow from both technical and procedural perspectives.
