American legal AI unicorn Harvey announced that it has developed a legal-specific model called Harvey Tenet, based on the open-weight model Kimi K3 from Moonshot AI, through post-training technology. This means that China's open-weight model has entered the training system of a leading vertical AI company in the United States for the first time.
Previously, Harvey mainly relied on closed-source models such as OpenAI and Anthropic to provide legal services, covering more than 2,400 organizations and 200,000 lawyers, with clients including many world-class corporate legal departments. Public information shows that its current valuation is 11 billion dollars, with an annualized revenue of about 350 million dollars, making it the highest-valued legal AI unicorn. It is currently raising funds at a valuation of about 15.5 billion dollars. From reliance on closed-source models to adopting a Chinese open-source foundation, the implementation of Tenet also reflects the increasing practical trust in open-weight models in vertical markets.
