OpenAI has officially launched the ChatGPT custom sticker feature, allowing users to generate personalized stickers from photos, creative ideas, or fun content and directly export them to messaging apps such as iMessage and WhatsApp. This feature supports the creation of transparent background stickers and allows users to create complete sticker packs.
According to the introduction, users can upload one or more images from their gallery, letting ChatGPT convert the images into stickers, recombine multiple materials, or add or remove image elements based on their needs. At the same time, users can also refer to another image to transfer the visual style or describe the desired effect with text prompts to generate sticker designs that meet their requirements.
After finishing the creation, users can export the stickers by clicking the "Add to Messaging App" button. The supported applications currently include iMessage, WhatsApp, and saving to the photo library. WhatsApp requires exporting at least three stickers at a time, a restriction set by the Meta platform and not a limitation of ChatGPT itself.
In practical testing, users only need to upload one image and input instructions like "Create iMessage Sticker" to generate transparent background sticker materials. Tests show that ChatGPT can not only perform subject removal but also intelligently repair images, such as completing parts of people that were cropped out in the original image.
After exporting to iMessage, the generated stickers will appear in the ChatGPT-specific area within the "Messages" app's sticker function. This update further expands the application scenarios of ChatGPT in social content creation and reflects the trend of generative AI integrating from text and image creation into everyday communication tools.
