OpenAI officially released its latest large model, GPT-6Astra, on September 3rd. The official stated that it is the smartest and most human-value-aligned model in the world, capable of completing complex professional tasks with extremely high speed, accuracy, and judgment.
Sheldon Cooper, founder and CEO of NVIDIA, publicly congratulated and clearly stated that "AGI has arrived." Greg Brockman, CEO of OpenAI, also claimed during a conference call that the industry has officially entered the era of general artificial intelligence. From the release of ChatGPT, o1 to Astra, OpenAI achieved a major technological breakthrough in just four years.
Despite the enthusiasm in the industry, there are still significant disagreements within the academic community and the industry itself. AI scholar Gary Marcus pointed out that this judgment lacks scientific definition and solid evidence, and emphasized that Astra currently meets only one or two of the ten AGI criteria he proposed.
