Recently, Tencent has been quietly testing the AI-native voice/expression tool ChatterFly. Some sources mention that its Chinese name might be "Baoyuan Input Method." Currently, it is available for macOS and Windows desktop clients, requiring an internal test code to access. iOS and Android are marked as "Coming Soon."
Different from conventional input methods that only perform "voice-to-text," ChatterFly brings expression assistance to the input stage: the default Fn key triggers voice input, allowing users to speak by pressing or holding the key. Pressing or double-clicking Fn again allows users to enter AI commands, such as "write a weekly report" or "generate development prompts." The homepage integrates input statistics, personal vocabulary, voice history, Skills, and settings, with top data showing total word count, voice ratio, voice speed, and time saved.
Skills is the core module, featuring built-in capabilities in the initial version such as meeting minutes, work reports, project progress, marketing copy, email polishing, and VibeCoding prompt optimization. These can be enabled via switches and rewritten based on context. In testing, speaking about arranging a dinner can automatically divide it into time, location, transportation, and follow-up items; speaking about "building an insect identification app" can output page structure, data boundaries, and acceptance criteria, directly handing it over to a development agent. The personal vocabulary supports automatic memory after voice-based word correction, manual addition of proper nouns, and one-click migration of Sogou vocabulary with authorization; however, words containing numbers or symbols may not work in pinyin mode.
