Step Zenith released the next-generation flagship base model Step5Preview, focusing on scenarios such as AI programming, software engineering, professional work, and finance, enhancing the model's overall performance in real-world Agentic tasks and further optimizing the balance between intelligence, cost, and efficiency.

This model ranks in the top three of global open-source models in the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index (AA Comprehensive Intelligence Index), with a single-task cost only 1/8 of Claude Opus5. It is planned to be officially open-sourced on October 15.
In terms of architecture, Step5Preview uses a sparse MoE architecture, with a total parameter count of 600B, and only 27B activated parameters. It supports a 1 million Token context window and natively supports text and visual input. It has been optimized for complex tasks in scenarios such as software engineering, professional workflows, and finance.
